Salt & Light Ministry
The Salt and Light ministry is a governmental and cultural ministry to restore our Biblical and moral foundation and rebuild our Judeo-Christian heritage. We bring restoration through prayer, education, and engaging with our community. We train and equip our church and community about governmental and cultural issues in an effort to help them understand and take action on these issues from a Biblical worldview.
We believe that God should be first, We the People should be second, and third, the government serves the people. When a godless government gets too big, society becomes unbalanced. To restore balance, we must get involved and enter this mission field within our nation. 2 Chronicles 7:14; Matthew 5:13-16; Exodus 18:21, Proverbs 29:2; 11:10.
Meeting Times
We meet bi-weekly on the 1st and 3rd Sunday nights from 7–8:30 PM for praying for our president, country, state, county, Israel, our neighbors, the seven areas of culture (home, church, education, government, business, arts and entertainment, media) and major current events.
Zoom Trainings
The Salt and Light Council zooms experts from around the nation to train us with national speakers. They speak on issues of the day, usually show a powerpoint and have Q & A. These zoom meetings links are shared via email.
Monthly Newsletters
We provide education through monthly newsletters for the youth and adults.
Monthly Meetings
We have a variety of events and meetings. We provide a monthly event through special speakers, educational movies, forums, training classes, voter registration, election information, evangelism training, State Fair Evangelism Outreach, and community activities that will bring restoration. We endeavor to mobilize Christians at the grassroots level, helping them to live out their responsibility to influence government and culture for good.
We use the PETER model which is:
P - Prayer - 1st and 3rd Sunday at 7 PM, except for major holidays. We use prayer cards so it won't be awkward for newbies.
E - Educate - we have a taped zoom call from leaders around the nation. The video is a lecture, power points, and Q&A.
T - Take it to the community - this is ours to pray over, discern, plan and execute.
E - Elections - our goal is to elect godly leaders who love God, our nation, city, constitution, truth and righteousness.
R - Restore America - this will only be through the grace of God. Our trust is in Him.
